DP10 Support: Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science offers the following advice to ARC applicants. For more thorough advice see http://www.gmo.unsw.edu.au/ApplyingForFunds/ARC/Discovery2010.html.

  1. Potential applicants should discuss proposals with their School representative on the Faculty Research Management Committee, or their Centre Directors. These advisors will in most cases refer applicants to a reader/mentor in the School who will assist with the technical aspects of the proposal. In some cases, schools have in place a secondary set of readers, from outside the school, who will give further advice on the non-technical aspects, as in Section B.

Additional one-on-one advice and review can be provided by Prof Peter Baverstock, p.baverstock@unsw.edu.au
  2. Advisors and applicants should call upon Ms Robyn Drummond (r.drummond@unsw.edu.au), UNSW Library Information Services, for further support around bibliometric information that might also be used to strengthen applications.
  3. Applicants should adhere as closely as possible to the published deadlines and enter basic information on GAMS as soon as possible. This alerts the Grants Management Office to forthcoming applications and gives them a means of informing applicants of updates.
