Career Development Awards 2009 funding round open
 
ASAP 
Please apply for a NHMRC application ID by sending an email to nhmrcapplications.gmo@unsw.edu.au if you have not already done so. You will need to include the following information:
 
- full contact details of the CIA, including mobile phone number/out-of-hours contact number
- which scheme the application is for
- tentative Project Title where applicable
- permission from the CIA if a nominated contact is to be included on email communications
 
NOTE: CIAs must have a formal affiliation with the University of New South Wales.
 
18 January 2008  
Closing date for full review and detailed feedback on applications.
 
From 21 January 2008 we cannot guarantee a full review but we will do our best within the time frame.
 


The following is important information taken from the NHMRC website:
 
In 2007 the NHMRC introduced a number of significant changes to the Career Development Awards scheme.  These changes  are outlined below:
  1. Introduction of two levels of CDAs:
    • CDA Level 1: 2-7 years post-doctoral experience;
    • CDA Level 2: 7-12 years post-doctoral experience
  2. Incorporation of the Industry Fellowships concept into the scheme;
  3. Incorporation of the Howard Florey Centenary Fellowship concept into the scheme;
  4. Reduction of the length of the award from 5 years to 4 years.
 
Note: Industry and Howard Florey Fellowships are no longer available as separate awards.
