Human Ethics When a researcher/academic wishes to conduct research or a teaching class involving humans they are required to submit a completed application form to the Human Research Ethics Committee. There are two methods by which research projects involving human participants are reviewed at UNSW, the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and the Human Research Ethics Advisory (HREA) panel.
