The Australian Research Council has introduced a new one-off fellowship to encourage mid career researchers to remain or return to Australia.

 

Over the five year period from 2009 to 2013, 1,000 four year fellowships will be awarded to top Australian and International researchers with annual budgets of up to $140,000. In addition to this up to $50,000 will be given to the administering institutions for infrastructure, equipment and travel support.

 

The Consultation process for the Future Fellowships is now closed but further details are available on the ARC Website outlining the administrative arrangements of the grants.
