Grant News and Research Funding Research Grants, Fellowships and Seminars ARC Centres of Excellence
The ARC has called for bids for Centres of Excellence, with funding commencing in 2011. This round will be a two stage process, with the first stage being submission of an Expression of Interest, due at ARC by 25th November.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in February 2010 and invited to submit a full application.
Researchers intending to submit a proposal should liaise with Leigh Schwartzkoff (l.schwartzkoff@unsw.edu.au, x59736) in the Research Strategy Office (or Laurent Rivory during the week commencing 26th October, l.rivory@unsw.edu.au, x57945). Support for travel is available to teams wishing to form consortia.
Please note that all UNSW expressions of interest are to be submitted through the Grants Management Office (GMO), and complete applications need to be lodged for compliance checking and institutional sign-off to mygrants.gmo@unsw.edu.au by 18th November. Applications should be accompanied by a Grant Application Lodgement Form (GALF).
Australian Space Science Research
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research has opened Round 1 of the Australian Space Research Program which will close Friday 4 December 2009. The Program provides two types of grants, Stream A - Space Education Development grants ($200,000 to $1 million) and Stream B - Space Science and Innovation Project grants ($1 million to $5 million), for projects of up to three years duration. Further rounds are anticipated in 2010 and 2011.

Super Science Fellows
The ARC are administering the Super Science Fellowships announced by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research earlier in the year. A call for applications from eligible institutions is now open and will close on 25 November 2009.
Researchers should note that this is not an open call to obtain Fellowship support. Eligible research groups will be contacted by staff of the Research Strategy Office or the relevant Faculty Associate Dean Research.
